Well it’s the middle of June here and the mighty Bow River is moving in full force. The River is fairly high but the water clarity is pretty good. I went down to the Bow last night and did not have any luck. My first lure I chose was the Blue Fox minnow spinner but it did not produce any fish. I then chose to go with a big # 15 silver Panther Martin to see if that would entice them into biting but still no luck. Then onto the Buzz Bomb thinking o.k. this has got to be it but no go. I usually go to the river with a positive attitude thinking I’m going to catch at least one fish but sometimes that does not always happen. That’s the thing about fishing though, you never really can tell when the fish are going to co-operate with your hook.
I’m looking forward to floating this coming weekend to see what’s really going on out there on the Bow. I’m planning to float on Saturday & Sunday from Policeman’s Flats all the way to the Carseland Weir which is a good eight to nine hour float. This is one of the premier floats on the Bow River with some of the biggest fish being caught on this stretch of the river. I will keep you posted on how I made out.
