General Info- Bow River

Well everyone it’s the end of July and things have seemed to slow down somewhat on the Bow River. I was reading in the paper that the fish biologists are encouraging fisherman to slow down the fishing on the Bow River as the water is quite low and it’s been very hot here the last 2 weeks. As a result of the heat, it put’s a lot of stress on the fish and could possibly kill some of the fish caught during these times. So in keeping with this request I have not fished on the Bow since I read the article in the Calgary Sun. That’s not to say that I will not go elsewhere to fish, that’s the cool thing about our sport; we can go all sorts of places to fish in the province of Alberta or anywhere else in the world for that matter. So hopefully all you die hard Bow River fisherman are doing your rain dance to get the water tables back up to Norman capacity again. This will help with the upcoming spawn of the Brown Trout as we all know that they spawn in the fall. I hope that you heed the warnings of the biologists and head to another body of water to fish. Maybe it will be there that you will catch the fish of your dreams.
