Ice Fishing Hot Spots

Ice Fishing Hot Spots in Canada.

Next on the list is Canim Lake which is located northeast of 100 Mile House, is a large waterbody with big Lake trout and Rainbow Trout, Kokanee salmon and Burbot. This lake is quite large, 14,000 acres to be exact.

To find this lake head north from 100 Mile House on highway 97 then turn east on Forest Grove/Canim Lake road and drive due north for about 30 km until you reach this lake. Mobility is excellent on this lake and holds Lake Trout up to 25 pounds as well as large Rainbows. You can also fish for the Kokanee or Burbot that dwell here. The limit here is 5 per day on each of these species listed.

Use an ATV or a snowmobile for your best results here on this lake. This lake has a number of resorts with many of them offering year round accommodations to enjoy. I’m not sure about bait bans so check your local regulations guide.

Thanks Donald, what were you catching while out on Hefley Lake? Why does Hefley Lake have some of the best fishing? I would be interested in learning more about this lake. Thank you for visiting this site and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Mike.
