So I head down to the Bow to give this baby a shot. Within the first half an hour I pulled in two trout, a 22inch Brown trout and a 23inch Rainbow that completely destroyed this lure so from then on in I decided this lure needs to be kept in my tackle box for good. Then on another fishing trip when floating the river in my dingy, I pulled out a monster Rainbow trout that measured 25inches in length which I managed to get a picture of, I’ll load it onto the site so you can have a look. I’ve not only had great success with the Rainbow pattern but also with so of the other colors as well. The Fire tiger has worked excellent as well as the black and gold, and what Berkley calls the silver shiner has been really successful

Berkley – Frenzy
Jay Yelas is a tournament fishermen whose winnings include the Bass Angler of The Year 2003, Bassmaster Classic Champion 2002, A five time Bass winner and a 16 time Bassmaster Classic qualifier. Here’s what Jay has to say about the Berkley Frenzy Diver “ The Berkley Frenzy diver is my “go-to†crankbait anywhere in the country. Jay goes on to say that he has caught Bass in nearly every state on the Fire Tiger Frenzy diver lure and it helped him win the 2002 Bassmasters classic. I have become a big fan of this lure as it continues to catch me large fish wherever I use it. It is awesome for Trout on the Bow River but it also works great for Walleye and Pike as well on the other bodies of water I often fish on. Take my advise and go out and get yourself a mitt full of these Berkley Frenzy lures and you too will “ Catch More Fishâ€.

Tackle – Buzz Bomb
There is so much fishing tackle out there it’s sometimes mind boggling. I would like some feed back from anyone who loves to fish the Bow River or any other body of water for that matter. What are you using when you set out to catch the BIG ONE. Here is another lure which I just love using for big trout. It’s called the Buzz Bomb and it catches everything under the sun, no doubt about it. I love the motto Buzz Bomb and Zinger use which is, “catches all types of fish†and it’s very true! I use this lure not only on the Bow River but on all rivers and lakes wherever I fish. This lure will hardly ever fail me when I’m on the Bow fishing for the large Trout or Rocky Mountain Whitefish. This lure will work on Trout, Rockies, Salmon, Steelhead, Sturgeon, Bass, Carp, Walleye, Pike, Muskie, and anything else that lives in the water that I may have forgot to mention.

Tackle – Buzz Bomb
The method I use to fish the Buzz Bomb is called the Mooching method. First cast your Buzz Bomb into the river or lake, let the Buzz Bomb flutter to the bottom, sometimes when the lure is falling a fish will strike. Second, after the Buzz Bomb has hit the bottom lift your rod tip up 2-3 feet and then drop the rod tip down again and reel in the slack line; whereby your lure sinks spinning horizontally.
This rotation sends out sonic vibrations that attract or annoy ALL fish large or small, into striking. Or I’ll use the casting method which is much the same as the mooching method. Cast your Buzz Bomb into surface feeding fish. Lift rod tip up smoothly about 2-3 feet which creates the BUZZ. Immediately throw rod tip back towards lure creating slack line then reel in slack. Repeat this process.
